Here are his words: « I sent out 2-4 rolls to 6 different photographers that I think are pushing it in the snow world last season. Having total creative control on what they want to shoot I just asked they send back blind unprocessed. I will be curating a feature in the 2013 Snowboarder US Magazine Photo Annual of the work from Matt Georges, Carlos Blanchard, Tim Peare, Blotto and Aaron Dodds. Always interesting to see the processes of other creatives and how they think/shoot. »

A few month ago I got an e-mail from american photographer Jeff Hawe:
« The ARob PAS foundation is aimed at getting young underprivileged youth a chance to experience snowboarding. It is dedicated to the memory of Aaron Robinson, a rider for K2 and Volcom who passed away this summer snowboarding in Chile. The show will be in 2 spots around Montana, USA. First in the Bomb Snow magazine gallery space in Bozeman and then at Stumptown Art Studio in Whitefish. Given my appreciation of your work, I would be honored if you would like to be a part. »
First of all that’s always great to get that kind of e-mail from a talented photographer and even better when it’s about helping kids and being part of a show with insane snowboard legend snappers like Jeff Curtes, Oli Gagnon, Chris Owen, Frode Sandbech, Scott Serfas, Scott Sullivan, Chris Wellhausen, Colin Wiseman, Andy Wright, Mike Yoshida, and Tim Zimmerman. Be sure to check out their work!
I didn’t have the chance to meet and shoot Aaron Robinson but all my thoughts go to his family and friends. Thanks Jeff for that opportunity and for the photos.
